Advanced Placement (AP)

North Branford High School currently offers seven Advanced Placement classes in United States History, Biology, Physics, Calculus, Language & Composition, Spanish and Psychology. Additional Advanced Placement classes are available on-line through Virtual High School. While NBHS does not require students in these classes to take the AP exam at the end of the year, we do strongly recommend that they do. Typically, students who earn a score of 3 or higher (3,4 or 5) on an AP exam can be awarded college credit, although the final decision about college credit is up to the college.

AP exams are administered in May according to a schedule set by CollegeBoard. See below for the 2008-09 schedule of exams for NBHS. Registration for students enrolled in an AP course who want to take the exam this year will begin after the end of the first semester. More information about the registration process will become available at that time.
